Table of Contents This story was intended to be a script for The Original Series. I had planned it for a fifth season, which would have represented the last year of the five-year mission -- if only the series had lasted that long! The episode would have assembled a number of foes from the earlier seasons. In that setting, old scores would have been settled or resolved.

At that point, the story was only a detailed outline and it sat for years in that form. I was reminded of it after seeing Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. At that time I thought of a similar storyline. At one point, I had two distinctly different stories on my personal list, #5 & #92, which covered similar subjects. I wondered how I could resolve the two stories which had had such similar scenarios. Because of this, I combined them into a single story.

What follows, then, is that combined storyline. However, instead of a script, I did it as a narrative since a script would have been too long, perhaps the length of two movies!

With this story, I made an effort to follow-up the events in Star Trek VI and take a look at what the future might hold for some of the main characters. I also introduce a new person, a security chief. In most episodes, security people didn't last long even if they had names. You know the old saying, 'red shirt; dead shirt.'

Lastly, there are a few hints regarding my story,
Final Mission. I just couldn't resist 'laying some easter eggs.'

As usual, I used the same sources as references and will include those along with my personal notes at the conclusion of the story.

I also wish to thank John Troan for assisting me as a proofreader.

In the meantime, please read and I hope you will enjoy it.
