Allen's Comments on Draft *weekend*, Aug 20-21

* Next year's HBO comedy special: THE RAFFLE DRAFT

* Ok, is League One the KEEPER league or the LAFFER league 7 ? ?
(YOU HAD TO BE THERE :-) :-)

* Team Lightning recieves the ANTI-AIRBALLER award for just having one
single QB ... last year, the Airballers got 3 in the first 4 rounds.
Time to trade a kicker, eh ?

* Team Hitmen for the "Famous Phil Simms Award" for picking up
Rick Mirer on round 7 instead of Phil Simms of ESPN fame.
Team Killer Bees, League 2, gets the same award for picking Harbaugh
just before Phil Simms and Team Magnificent 11 for our picking of Craig
  Erickson (sp) again before Phil.

* NOTE: Famous Phil Simms is a trademark of RAFFLE, USA :-)

* Team Bookies get the "Bookend" award for thier awesome array of 3 tight
ends ... moral of the story: Top 25 lists need instructions :)

* Team Panthers for the "I wrote all these instructions for my list, but
got screwed anyway" award. I know the feeling :)

* The "I let Cliff Charpentier pick my team" awards goes to team
Vikingarna, But they were NOT the first to go to the book. Three Viking
RBs, all late rounds, were picked from the book. Another recipient of
this award is Team Magnificent 11, with 5 roster positions picked by
  the 'Book of DEATH :-)'

* The 'Why did I draft a TM in the sixth round' award goes to Team Vikingarna

* The 'Dave Letterman Top Lists Award" goes to Team Obliterators for their
top 118 list of players ... actually, I thought it worked out pretty well
  unlike most lists ... :-)

Trends of note seen during the draft:

IN: Arizona and Pittsburah Defense. Sophmore Quarterbacks. Drafting for the
Basic scoring method, Steve Young and John Elway, Top 25 lists

OUT: Phil Simms, Joe Montana, QBs on new teams, drafting a TM,
Indianapolis Colts players, proper use of Top 25 lists
