Immediately after watching Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, I was struck by the tremendous possibility of retrieving extinct animals and plants from the past and bringing them forward. I suppose part of this revelation was prompted by the possibility of seeing wooly mammoths, sabre tooth tigers and such. It sounded like a good idea so I wrote a story about just such an undertaking. After kicking the story around a bit, I found myself doing several rewrites and then changing direction all together. I decided to do a short story but I still broke it into several parts.
Recently, while cleaning up and reorganizing after completing Final Mission and the upcoming Tom and Tom Again, I found this already written, so I gave it a final series of proof readings and passed it on to John for inclusion on the Kitty Hawk website.
