Trade windows are back this week. Don't forget that daylight savings ends this coming weekend. (This affects those overseas more than those of us in the U.S.) The result is that all of the deadlines will be FIVE hours behind GMT instead of four. I also need to clear up a few things: > Trade windows are used to give the bad teams priority over better teams when trying to acquire players not already on someone's FFL roster. If you don't get your mail sent in time, it gets queued up for processing after the last trade window ends (18:00 eastern). This affects waiver wire activity only -- trades are processed as I hear from the owners. > When submitting lineups, please make sure you either 1) state clearly which players to roll over from the previous week, or 2) send a complete lineup. (The second is preferred so that I don't miss anything.) > All three leagues are now considered Keeper -- League III teams roll over a portion of their rosters starting this coming off-season. > There were a couple questions about the schedules in Lgs I & II. Both leagues play a place schedule that puts you against teams that finished in the same position in the other divisions. (It also means that there's one team in each of the other divisions you don't play.) I try to keep teams from playing each other two weeks in a row, but twice in three weeks may happen occasionally. > I don't know how many of you have heard about some of the changes the NFL is considering -- the key being the 18-game season that shortens the preseason. If this goes through, there will be some rework in the RAFFLE post-season. NOTE: this wouldn't go into effect until the 1998 season when the yet-to-be- negotiated TV contracts take effect. > I'm looking to rework the way off-season rules changes are done. Currently, the Competition Committee votes on it. This worked well when we were all non-Keeper and there were five members all in Raleigh. With a couple of moves and owner losses, we're down to four owners in two cities.
