Four weeks gone already?? Seems like the season just started! My apologies for the lineup problems this past week. Hopefully they won't occur again. The only explanation I might be able to offer is that I was doing some high-visibility stuff at work -- culminating in a couple of ses- sions today that included some very important (and powerful?) individuals in the Wake County government (Raleigh is in Wake County). Another contri- buting factor is that I'm starting to compile career stats for the NFL going back to 1920 and have been working somewhat heavily on that when I some time here or there. In short, I'm hoping that things have cooled off for a while and there won't be any problems again. Standings ~~~~~~~~~ Sisko Divison W L T Per. The 4-0 Trouncers are off to the best start in fran- chise history. In a Sisko Division contest, the struggling Bruins had to go up against the high-scoring Peace Frogs, only to lose 91-58. The 'Frogs had some help in their corner in the person of Cris Carter (80+ yds and 3 TDs), while the Bruins came up short with poor performances from most of their lineup. With Monday Night Football came the Lightning's first victory, 74-69 over the now 0-4 Oblits. While the Oblits had Elway (who did quite well proving he _can_ still run), the Lightning had Sharpe and Elam. Had those FG's been TD's, the Oblits could've won. Oh, well..... In a rather one-sided game the Panthers downed the Goatboys 109-64, taking the lead in the Kira Division away from the Vikingra. (The question is if the Panthers will maintain their division lead after next week's game against the Trouncers. :) ) In another game not decided until Monday night, the Bookies defeat the Hitmen, 79-57. Had Buffalo done better, the Hitmen had a chance to win. Instead, they get to reside in the Kira Division at 2-2 with the Goatboys. In the closest game in League I this week, the T'birds just edge out the Warriors, 98-96. The deciding factor was the Warriors starting injured Mike Pritchard -- who probably would've pulled in enough points to put them ahead Monday night.
