The RAFFLE has experienced its first tie game!!! After monday night action, Lightning and the Cloggers were tied at 16-16. After ruffling through the subs, we STILL had a tie, so ... they tie!! A breakdown of the tie-handling procedure is listed under boners (naturally! :) There was no such Monday night strangeness for the Airballers as the Bastards romped to a 36-31 win. The loss drops the Airballers to 3-5 while the Bastards continue their winning streak to 3 games. Just as the NFL has no undefeated teams, neither does the RAFFLE as the red-hot Trouncers pulled the upset over Hot Death 23-19. Ironically, it was the losing dolphins that gave the Trouncers the points needed to unseat the only undefeated team... In a battle of 2-5 teams trying to stay alive for the playoffs (Ok, it is early, but I had to bring it up...) the Linemen defeat the Bombjacks by a 23-15 score. M. Stover helped push the Linemen over the Bombjacks with 13 points. In a clash of winning teams, the Bombers defeated the Club-division leading Steelers by a 30-20 margin. Good, consistent performance was the key to the Bombers win which now puts them in sole possession of 1st place in the spade division (by 1/2 a game...) In a game where a 4 game losing streak had to end one way or the other, The Wildcats came out of the closet and reversed their fortunes by beating the Anarchists 40-21. The Wildcats broke their four game losing streak with E. Smith's 18 points, but the Anarchists have dropped their 5th straight. Behind the Numbers: The Kickers were unusually productive this week! NONE of Indianapolis' 36 points were picked up by RAFFLE teams (maybe someone should pick up EMTMANN -- NOT!) The Airballers lead the league in points scored, but have a dismal 3-5 record. This may be true because they have had the most points scored against them! Four teams did not bother to remove team players who were off this week -- three lost!! REMEMBER THAT THIS WEEK! Boners: If Elway starts for the Wildcats, they break 50 points, a feat only done by 1 RAFFLE team (Lightning). The Cats still won, though. Perhaps the Steelers could have benefitted from R. Jackson, DEN 12 points? I think so too! Four teams did not bother to remove team players who were off this week -- three of them lost!! REMEMBER THAT THIS WEEK! (Deja Vous? Yep!) Some lineups were a little mixed up this week. Sorry about that, but I got it all straightened out Monday! Now for the interesting part: The Cloggers and Lightning starters played to a 16-16 tie. Now, here is the breakdown of the tie-breaking procedure: The Cloggers were the home team, so their first sub was scored: k | K. Willis, TB (1 extra point. Cannot break tie!) Next, Lightning's first sub: rb | E. DICKERSON, LARD (Did not score - Allen made TD, not him!) and now the rest of the subs in order: Cloggers: rb | D. Fenner, CINN (Did not score) Lightning: wr | T. GRAHAM, PITTS (Did not score ... we're getting thin...) Cloggers: te | P. Metzalaars, BUFF (Did not even PLAY!) Lightning: DEF| GIANTS (4 pts, but no SAFETY or TD! We're tied!) *** Please note the examples with the kicker and TEAM DEFENSE.
